The American company Omega Aquatics has presented at an exhibition DEMA absolutely new kind fin for diving, having named them "dynamic scuba fins" (or folding scuba fins). The first of its kind, the "Amphibian", being put on, will allow diver safely and comfortably walk on the land, and in the water.
The fins consist of two parts which are interconnected by a proprietary mechanism called the "Aqua-Hinge," which includes pressed keyhole structure, blade hinge and corrosion-proof springs.
These fins have been developed in order to be put on before entering water and removed after after exiting. The sole of the foot pocket has a surface with protection against sliding and an ergonomic structure.
Blades move into swimming position naturally from kicking in water and are open by pushing the lever by hand or with a heel. Omega Aquatics believes that the product is a natural evolution of fins. They will go on sale in the spring of 2007.
